9ART - Visual Art (Semester)
Aims of the Course:
Te ao toi/The arts offer diverse forms for Äkonga to generate and express ideas, exploring identity, culture, and personal perspectives. Engaging in visual arts helps students discern, participate in, and celebrate visual worlds.
The Year 9 Visual Arts course focuses on students developing and investigating the fundamentals of Visual Art.
Topics:
The processes explored include:
- Drawing
- Using a range of wet and dry media. Observing food as a subject.
- Printmaking
- Relief printing (lino) Plexi Plate etching.

This course leads into year 10 Visual Arts.
Careers leading from Visual Art include, artist, product designer, teacher, architect, animator, illustrator, gallery manager, journalist, presenter, fashion designer.
