Aims of the Course:
Understanding the World: Chemistry explains the properties of everyday substances, the changes they undergo, and the principles behind various natural phenomena. You learn to analyse information, draw conclusions, and apply logical reasoning.
Real-World Applications: Understanding chemical concepts helps you make informed decisions about health, nutrition, environmental issues, and the use of household products. It also provides a basis for understanding issues such as pollution, climate change, and sustainable energy.

Students study topics including:
Investigations and titrations to determine presence of substances in a sample.
Organic chemistry.
Structure of substances to explain their uses in the modern world.
Recommended Prior Learning
Students should have achieved 15 Dilworth Points in 11SCI.
