12PAT - Pathways NCEA Level 2
This course is geared towards students who may wish to leave school at the end of Year 12 and/or would benefit most from exploring options for further study, work or training post-Dilworth. Learning experiences are designed to help students understand career pathways and develop work-ready skills. The course incorporates Youthtown’s ‘Youth Employability Programme’, which involves employability workshops.
Students will benefit from off-site employer visits and educational opportunities with selected training providers, including the opportunity to gain further credits and an industry ‘Site Safe’ certificate for the Building and Construction trades. Students will also gain skills, knowledge and experiences through outside training providers such as NZMA, UNITEC, Site Safe and Safety n’ Action.
The Unit Standards in this course are competency-based, and credits are graded at ‘Achieved’. It is important to note that no Merit or Excellence grades, or course endorsements are available for this course.

Pathway
This course contributes credits towards Level 2 which is often the pre-requisite for certificates, diplomas, apprenticeship training as well as many entry-level jobs.
